Centralized 90 P.E. wastewater treatment plant for a remote safari camp in the Okavango Delta

IMG_7163.JPG

This centralized system caters for a camp of 28 guests, 12 members of management and 35 staff members. The reticulation of waste from guest units, the camp kitchen and laundry and the staff village is achieved through septic tanks and pump tanks at these areas.

The main treatment plant consists of two 5000L final holding tanks in series followed by three ECOROCK-5000 units in parallel, allowing up to 15000L of water to be treated on a daily basis. Final effluent is treated by an inline chlorinator and sprayed into a set of sprinklers.

This treatment plant requires only 250W (to power the final submersible pump) and uses  less than 1kWh/24 hours.

While the Botswana government tries to put together a National Water Policy (NWP), looking after our water resources can start at home or at the office.

With our range of water treatment solutions, you can produce drinking-quality water and save having to continually buy treated water. More importantly, our solutions (unlike reverse osmosis) keep the all important minerals in, making the water healthier!

In addition, the BIOROCK compact domestic sewage treatment plant allows you to reuse your wastewater (shower, basin, kitchen, laundry and toilet) on your garden or for larger irrigation purposes.
