The Solar Zone has been employed for various solar and water treatment solutions for our camps and lodges.
We have successfully installed two sewage treatment plants in Khwai as well as numerous efficient solar geysers. We have also engaged with The Solar Zone to install the solar PV system at KGH and manage the solar system at Sango Camp, where they have recently replaced a battery bank and installed a monitoring system to allow us to better manage our electrical systems.
They have recently installed a 6kWp rooftop system for us in Maun with a 10kVA inverter power system and lead acid battery backup.
The Solar Zone has always responded efficiently to our queries and consulted with us to offer expert advice to match our needs and meet our sustainable energy goals.
Feline Fields – The Lodge
We have developed a luxurious lodge in the middle of nowhere and needed a sustainable power source. We were impressed with the designs that The Solar Zone presented to us, allowing the system to be installed now (using some power from the generator) and upgraded in future with limited extra effort.
We installed small solar systems (1kWp) for all out suites and now look to get them completely off the generator by upgrading each of the three suites to 2kWp systems to accommodate the pool pumps. The main area will be upgraded from a 2kWp to a 4kWp system – again to accommodate the large pool pumps.
In addition, we have recently installed completely off-grid systems for our smaller tented units and will be installing a solar component to the laundry.
We have been thoroughly impressed by the service offered by The Solar Zone, not only by the design team offered us various choices to fit in with our needs, but especially the professional and practical installation team, who seamlessly installed the system without any hassles.

The Solar Zone has assisted us with solar and sewage systems over many years. We have installed BIOROCK sewage treatment plants at two of our camps and are more than happy with these systems.
They have assisted greatly in improving our battery and solar system, always giving professional advice and are more than willing to engage with us and visit sites to find the best solutions for us – and are never shy of offering the truth, addressing issues and explaining the various options available.
We’ve also installed a biogas system which runs off horse manure and produces cooking gas for the staff village. As the camp is remotely located, this has greatly assisted with the amount of LPG we have to transport to site!

Sunflower Services
We engaged The Solar Zone to design, supply and install a solar PV system for our offices in Maun. We successfully installed a 1kWp solar system to supply power to our small office. Recently we have upgraded this to a 2kWp system (with an AGM battery bank) to accommodate a small air conditioner unit and fridge.
We also installed a BIOROCK sewage treatment plant to effectively deal with our toilet waste water as is uses no electricity for the treatment process. It has a couple of submersible pumps, which are easily handled by the solar plant!
Tuli Block
The Solar Zone has been responsible for installing a 10kWp system in my residence in the Tuli Block and the results are spectacular. Stuart gave the right advice, a number of options and sized a system for me which runs my entire home. He has been very professional in all my dealings with him and his staff installed the system to the highest standards.
They are very knowledgeable and efficient and the system has run perfectly from day one.
